Hello my sweet friends!
I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about this product in the blogging community, but the YouTube community has been a buzz with talk!
If you didn’t know, Anastasia Beverly Hills recently came out with matte bronzers, which is actually really cool in my opinion. They seem to be slowly adding more makeup to their line and really expanding.
ABH is one of my favorite eyeshadow and highlighter brands, so I knew I had to check out their bronzers.
I actually really like this packaging. It comes in this black compact that’s very sleek and thin. The front has the ABH logo in gold, but the coolest part to me is the ‘A’ logo all over the lid. If you look at the top closely you can see the circled ‘a’ logo repeated all over.
It also clasps close and you have a release button to open it.
It’s pretty simple packaging, but I like that about ABH.
It also is 1 dollar cheaper than Benefit’s Hoola, this retails for $28 USD.
There are only 6 shades of this bronzer and I have to say all of them appear to be very red. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing, but I do know a lot of people are very particular about their bronzer undertone.
I chose the shade “Rosewood,” mainly because Casey Holmes said that was the one she uses and we have similar skin tones.
Rosewood is said to be a light golden color. You can definitely see the reddish tint in the swatch. It’s not overly reddish, but it is there. This is also one of the lighter colors. I do think they could have at least come out with more shades with a bunch of other under tones.
Application & Wear:
Luckily this bronzer goes on very light and builds up nicely. I was worried because of the red tone that it was going to be super pigmented and make me look crazy, but it doesn’t.
It’s a very smooth formula and isn’t dusty or patchy at all.
I think it gives you a really nice bronzed/warm look.
It doesn’t fade or break up after a while on the skin, it lasts and holds up very well.
Overall, I really do like this bronzer and the formula. The only issue I can see is for very light skinned people, this bronzer doesn’t come in a lot of shades and you might have some issues with looking a little dark.
I do think this will be nice for us medium skinned loves and darker skinned loves.
Let me know if you’ve tried this bronzer out! Did you like it? Hate it? What do you think of the shades?
Let’s be friends!
